Chinese New Year Charity Ball
Savoy Ballroom, Grand Hyatt, Collins Street, Melbourne
A fund raising event organised by the Australian Chinese Events Committee. The charity of choice for this event is Royal Children's Hospital's Adolescent Health Unit. Entertainment during the night includes lion dancing, singers from Pot-Pourri and music by the Fred Cheah band. Dress is black tie and Cheongsam (optional for the ladies). A prize will be awarded for the best Cheongsam for the evening. Tickets at $150 per person (includes a three course meal, entertainment and door prizes) |

Over 35,000 people attended the first ever Chinese New Year and Lantern Festival in 2009. The second event promises to be better and bigger! Join Hong De Lion Dance and Khuan Yee Lion Dance performers in celebrating the end of the Chinese new year festival. Plenty of lion dance and cultural performances all day in Kingsway and City Century Walk. Come and see the lion dance on high poles in the middle of Kingsway!
